Rest in peace Sampson. I know sometimes we had an acrimonious and difficult rapport however there were just as many good talks about choices and consequences that you believed in. The years brought many challenges and not all of them easy.
I will miss your smile and your laugh when you found a truth and strength from the choices you had made and could then acknowledge that you were a good person who sometimes made hard choices because of the way life was at times. We always worked to find your successes and not the misses. You had a warriors heart. I know I saw it many times. Even when you did not know I was looking.
You are at peace now

I remember last July when he got out of jail and he came to visit me at Sanctuary. He looked so good and was so high on life and ready to get started again. That is what I will always remember about him: he tried so hard to look on the bright side and keep positive. His smile was infectious!

Samson, I will miss your phone calls, and your text messages.
No matter where you were, you always let me know how you were doing.
The jokes that were told, and the laughter we shared, will forever be kept close to my heart.
I'll miss your calls and your text messages when you tell me, "I love you Auntie".
I know you had a hard life, and I always told you, your life is what you make it. Live your life to the fullest, and to the very best.
I truly believe the better part of your life, was when you called me to tell me you had a Son. You called me, not once but three times and told me "I have a Son", First, was Kody, then there was Cayden, then came Uriah, you were very proud. You were so excited to share the news with me. I was so proud of you. You were a Daddy. A proud Daddy.
But, on that unfaithful day, on April 5th, you left behind three beautiful Sons. I know they will miss you dearly, as will I.
I remember the sad times too. When you were down, you would call, or send me a message. We talked for a long time, I never left you until you were feeling better. We always did a follow-up call or text message to make sure all was good.
I remember when you lost Geri. That night, you asked Mom to call me, you wanted me to come to you. After Mom told me what was going on, I packed up and came to you. I came to you, and found you were broken. I held you that night, all night, you fell asleep in my arms.
When I heard that you had passed, I wanted so much to come to you, to find you, to hold you, and to hang onto you, never to let you go. I cried, I prayed, I cried out your name, hoping you would hear me and come back.
My tears flow like there's no tomorrow. My heart is heavy like a tonne of bricks. When I close my eyes, I hear your voice, telling me over and over again "I love you Auntie". I will always hear those words. I will never forget that love you had for me.
I thank you for being my Nephew, Samson, I thank you for calling me Auntie. Til we meet again, all my love, Auntie.
