Obituary of Annie Wilson Wood
Annie Wilson (Whitten) Wood
July 6, 1920 - September 26, 2019
We are sad to announce the passing of our mom. She is back in the arms of her husband, Des, her parents, John and Marion, her sister, Betty and brother, Jack.
Left to grieve her passing are her daughters, Judy ( Fred) and Desi ( Herb), her grandchildren, Stephanie, Erin ( Calum), Kate (Tony), Matthew ( Jeannine) and Michael ( Sarah), her great grandsons Jay, Ty, Kayden, Zach, Carter, Oliver and Myer and her sister in law Joyce.
Our mom was a good person, always striving to do the right thing. Her priority was always her family. Following our dad’s career in the RCAF mom used her talents to make a home for us whether it was Goose Bay Labrador or Fairborn, Ohio or Toronto.
She knit socks and heirloom baby shawls, sewed tiny pleated skirts, wall papered, painted and made Angel food cakes and shortbread.
She enjoyed a very long life and in her last years when fragility and illness were upon her she demonstrated her courage and her sense of humour.
Cremation has taken place and a family graveside service will be arranged to celebrate her 100th birthday.
“And flights of angels see thee to thy rest”.
