Vitiello: Aniello “Neil”
Surrounded by love, Aniello passed away at the Douglas Memorial Hospital on September 22nd,2019 at the age of 91. Loving husband of the late Brigida “Bridget”. Cherished father of Gerry (Joanne), Salvatore (Sylvia), Tony (Michelle) and Maria (Tom) Palmer. Much loved Grandpa of Ryan, Cory, Greg, Zack, Nick, Alexandra, Samantha, Neil, Anara , Jessica, Michael, Michelle, Stephanie and Olivia. Great Grandfather of Bobby, Desiree, Mya, Ethan, Barlow, Aviana and Kiera. He will be sadly missed by his companion, Josephine Quaranta, siblings Vincenzo (Anna) and Josephine, many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Predeceased by his siblings Fortunato and Maria.
Born in Italy, he immigrated to Canada in 1953. A job with the CNR where he spent his entire career brought him to Fort Erie in 1959. A kind and caring man, his greatest joy was his family and he showed it in the way in which he cared for them, especially his wife during her illness. He had a devotion to the community, demonstrated by his hard work and volunteer services with the Italo Canadian Club and the Knights of Columbus.
The family extend their appreciation to Dr. Scher and the staff at the Douglas Memorial Hospital who provided such dignified and and compassionate care.
Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3-5 & 7-9. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church at 11 am followed by a reception at the Italo Canadian Club. Entombment to follow in Fairview Mausoleum. If so desired, donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
