Obituary of Joseph John Morlog

Morlog: Joseph It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Morlog announce his sudden passing on February 11, 2016. Born November 4, 1926, Joe married his wife, Wilhelmina on February 14th 1953. They emigrated together from Holland to Canada in March of that year. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, their three sons, Barry and his wife Elizabeth (Dundas ON), Murray (Fort Erie, ON), and Rick (Halifax NS), grandchildren David and Katherine and their spouses Charetina and Steven. Joe is also survived by brothers and sisters, Hank, Gerta, Cora, Jim, and Gert (all of Chatham, ON), and their extended families. Joe was a selfless volunteer and member of many organizations in Fort Erie. He will be dearly missed by the Knights of Columbus, the Royal Canadian Legion, Saint Vincent DePaul Society, the Town of Fort Erie Seniors Advisory Board, the 96ers Card Club and the Riverside Card Club. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Road, Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. Visitation on Monday February 15th 2 - 4 p.m. and 7- 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held Tuesday February 16th, 11:00 a.m. at St. ,Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 310 Central Ave., Fort Erie. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Garrison Road, Fort Erie. Vigil prayers in the Funeral Home on Monday at 3:30. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 71 Veterans Poppy Fund, or the Saint Vincent dePaul Society, would be greatly appreciated.
