Obituary of Frank Maurice Allen

ALLEN, FRANK : It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to the Patriarch of our family. A long life, well lived, came to a peaceful end on September 23rd, 2016 at Stirling Heights Long Term Care in Cambridge, ON. Frank was in his 94th year. Predeceased by his wife Betty (2008) and his daughter Nancy Horton as well as his parents, in-laws, step brothers and step sisters. Frank was a loving, caring leader and role model to his family. He leaves behind his granddaughter Mary Anne Turner (Jeff Hill) of Niagara Falls and his grandson Jack Horton (Melody) of St. George. As well as his great grandchildren Alan Horton, Jeffrey Horton, Ruby Hill, Brodie Hill, Faith Howard, Jesse Horton & Lucas Horton. He also had two great great granddaughters. Frank was a member of the CAF and fought in WWII as a 20lb. Gunner. Frank worked 35 years of service at the Fort Erie Post Office. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends (Jack Horton Sr. & Jeff Turner). Thank you to his Fort Erie PSW Tammy MacGregor-Brooks for the special time that you spent with him, he enjoyed every moment of it. Thank you also to the staff at Stirling Heights Long Term Care in Cambridge for caring for him like he was your own family. Cremation has already taken place at Frank's request and a private service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Erie. If so desired, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
