Marilyn Daley

Obituary of Marilyn Daley

Marlene Anne Daley (Knutson), beloved mother and adored grandmother, passed away at the age of 74, on December 31, 2025, after a long and courageous health journey. She was surrounded by her children, whose love and presence brought her comfort and strength in her final days.

Throughout her life, Marlene was known for her kindness, resilience, and deep devotion to her family. Even during years of illness, she faced each day with quiet strength and grace, always putting the needs of her children and loved ones before her own.

Marlene found joy in the simple moments—time spent with family, shared conversations, and the comfort of being together. Her greatest pride was her children and grandchildren; the bond she shared with them remained strong through every challenge.

She is survived by her children Dan (Alison) Daley, Laura (Peter) Petrakis and Barney (Carlee) Daley who will carry her love, lessons, and memory with them always.  She was a loving grandmother to Michaela (Mathieu), Payton, Stella, George, Matthew, Henry, and Drew all of whom she was immensely proud of.  Always in the hearts of her siblings Les (Anne) Knutson, Dennis (Hillary) Knutson, Eileen (Ian) Jones. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents Ken (Molly) Knutson and sister Ruby (Terry), Charles and Beverley.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to those who offered support, prayers, and care during her illness. Extra special thanks goes out to Diep and Lori from the Brock Floor at GNGH for their extraordinary care during her final days. Marlene will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love she gave so freely.

Family and friends will gather at the Benner Funeral Chapel on Saturday January 10th from 10 am until the time of services in the chapel at 11 o'clock.  Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
