Obituary of Elsie Barbara Pietz

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother Elsie Barbara Pietz. 

Elsie was born on February 13, 1924, in Fort Erie and passed away on December 13, 2025 at Gilmore Lodge, Fort Erie. She is reunited with her husband George, with whom she spent over 50 years with until his passing in 2000. Mother of Gloria (Barry), and Harry. Grandmother to Jason (Heather), Jody (Carrie) and Janine (Mark), and great-grandmother to Hunter (Maeve), Cole, Seth, Isaac, Paige, Lincoln and Isabel. Predeceased by her Parents Luigia and Anna Marcaccio, sisters Josephine and Lena and brothers Mac and Harry. Elsie lived in Fort Erie, Crystal Beach where she worked at Fort Erie Racetrack.  

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, December 18 from 9:30 am- 11 am at Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Avenue in Fort Erie. A Funeral Service will take place at 11 am in the Benner Chapel and interment at Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery will follow. If so desired, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 310 Central Avenue, Fort Erie, ON, L2A 3T3, and would be appreciated by her family.
