Mary Waytena, passed peacefully at Garrison Place on December 2, 2025 at the age of 97.

Predeceased by her loving husband of over 76 years , Peter.

Cherished mother of Susan (George) McCleary and mother in law of Lisa Waytena (Tony Keough)  Proud grandmother of Matthew (Sandi) Waytena, Jeremy Waytena, (ArDina) Lever, Rachel (Jon) Fischer, Isaiah (Chelsey) Lever, Summer (Kevin) DeBeau, Rebecca McCleary (David). She was adored by her 14 great grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Ann & Michael Stacey and by her loving son Robert Waytena, loving grandson Elijah Lever and cherished great grandson Dawson Waytena, as well as her siblings William, Olga, Elsie, and Robert. Her large extended family includes many nieces and nephews.

Mary was born on December 1st, 1928 in Honeymoon, Sask. Mary spent her early years on a farm and moved east to Ontario with the love of her life, Peter.

Through hard work and perseverance, they became business partners and proud store owners of Erie Jewellers. Her family was the highlight of her life. They brought her much joy, laughter and love throughout her lifetime. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the wonderful caring staff at Garrison Place who went above and beyond to make her stay there so fantastic. Thanks also to Dr. K. Scher, Marty and all the nurses for their exceptional care as well.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Benner Funeral Services.

Visitation will take place on December 6th from 11am-12pm with a funeral service starting at 12pm in the Benner chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Garrison Place would be appreciated by the family.
