Obituary of Charlene Goy
GOY, Charlene Martha
Passed away peacefully from Alzheimer’s Disease on November 4, 2025 at the age of 88 surrounded by her loved ones leaving this world with dignity and grace. Her final moments were filled with blessings, light and love.
Beloved wife of her late husband, Ralph Goy (1992). Loved forever by her daughters, Ralene Chartrand and Valene (Brent) Mater, Cherished “Bugga” and Grandma to Ian and Aaron ( Kathryn) and treasured Nana to Hannah and Chloe.
She is joyfully reunited in Heaven with her sons Kirby, Jeff and Scott Goy, her grandchildren Nathan Chartrand and Allison Mater. She is predeceased by her siblings Bill Corlett and Dawn Ambrous as well as her parents Charles Corlett and Winifred Kelly.
Charlene was born in Timmins Ontario on December 3, 1936 and moved to Guelph in her early years where she attended Loretto Academy. She went on to become an Early Childhood Educator for many years. In 1985 She moved to Fort Erie to open a retail shoe store “Charal’s” with her husband and later worked in Human Resources with Peace Bridge Brokerage until retirement in 2001.
Charlene was a proud member of the Zonta Club of Fort Erie and enjoyed volunteering her time to her community.
Her greatest joy was being with her family, reminiscing the beautiful moments spent and traditions made with great amounts of laughter. She loved music, and especially singing with her daughters, she loved to travel and going on adventures with her very best friend ‘Pam’.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins and they will fondly miss her.
Visitation will take place on November 8, 2025 at 1:00pm at Benner Funeral Services – 1105 Benner Avenue, Fort Erie. Her service will be held in the chapel at 2:00pm. Interment to follow at McAfee Cemetery.
Heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Maple Park Lodge in Fort Erie and to the staff at GNGH for their gentle care in her final moments.
She will be greatly missed and forever loved in our hearts.
