Obituary of Judie Spear

Judie Alexis Spear lived 77 years filled with laughter, love, and learning - and today, we celebrate every moment of her remarkable journey. 

Judie passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was born on August 24, 1948, in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, to Michael and Evangaline Andrecyk. 

Judie is survived by her adoring husband of 38 years, Vernon Spear, and her beloved children; Cassandra (Barry), Rick (Katie), Susan (John), Carrie (Charlie), Kevin, Denise (Robert), and Dawn (Des). She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy. Judie is survived by her sisters Michelle (Leon), Cammie (Jannese), and Timmarie, and was predeceased by her son Gregory and her sister Melinda. 

She leaves behind a family who adored her and friends who cherished her humor, kindness, and generosity. 

Family and friends will be received at the Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Avenue in Fort Erie, Ontario, for visitation on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.  A funeral service and rite of committal will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 10 am at St. John’s Anglican Church, 2251 Ridgemount Road in Stevensville, Fort Erie, Ontario. 

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the ER and ICU staff at Greater Niagara Hospital for their incredible care and compassion. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Anglican Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and will be gratefully appreciated.
