Obituary of Lorna Possler
Lorna Lilias Possler
December 6, 1934 – October 21, 2025
Lorna Possler, in her 91st year, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, in Fort Erie, Ontario.
Born in 1934 in Clarenceville, Quebec, Lorna moved to Waterford, Ontario in her youth before eventually settling in Fort Erie. There alongside her husband John Possler, she co-founded Peninsula Custom Brokers in 1968 - a family business proudly carried on by her three children for many years.
Lorna was predeceased by her husband John, her later-life partner Jack Wilson, and her beautiful daughter Lisa (Will) Cebrynski. She will be forever missed by her children Gary (Debbie) and Heidi (Kevin); her grandchildren John (Kristin), Jennifer (Jay), Billy (Mandy), Chris (Rosie), Karah (Joel), and Ben (Madison); and her 13 cherished great-grandchildren who she adored. She also leaves behind special cousins Sandra, Angie, and Brian, and the Meli family, who loved her deeply.
Lorna was the matriarch and backbone of her family. A steady, loving presence whose strength, kindness, and unwavering support held everyone together. She always chose to see the good in people and lived her life with a full, generous heart. Her wisdom, grace, and quiet resilience were a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
Lorna had a lifelong passion for horses. A proud owner of many thoroughbred racehorses, she spent countless mornings at her farm and training centres in Ocala, Florida, always finding joy in watching her horses flourish. Her love of Florida extended beyond the stables - she treasured the time spent at her home there, always welcoming her family and friends with open arms.
Compassionate, strong, and deeply loving, Lorna was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. To know her was truly to love her.
Benner Funeral Services have been entrusted with arrangements.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honour at Bridgewater Country Club on Tues November 11th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Palliatve Care Unit.
