Obituary of Ewelina Kinga Niemczyk

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Ewelina Niemczyk at 52. On October 18th, 2025, Ewelina lost her battle with brain cancer.    

Ewelina had a passion for research and learning. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Social, Cultural and Political Contexts of Education at Brock University. She was awarded a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at North-West University in Potchefstroom, South Africa where she studied social justice in education with a focus on human rights in diversity (2016). In 2019, Ewelina accepted a position as Associate Professor at North-West University and in 2023 she was appointed as an Associate Fellow at the University of Westminster in London.

She was trusted and respected by her colleagues and students, who adored her. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family, friends, colleagues and students.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Benner Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
