Obituary of Robert Cassel
Robert Wayne (Bob) Cassel, May 25, 1943 – Sept 6, 2025
Our brother Bob passed away peacefully while in palliative care in the Douglas Memorial Hospital, Fort Erie, at the age of 82. He was predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Aleda Cassel, his wife Phyllis (Singbeil), and his sister Ruth Ann Chester. He is survived by his brother Don Cassel (Barb), and sisters Elaine Cassel, Karen Cassel, Martha Heise (Ken), and Mary Wiens (Jake), and brother-in law Leonard Chester as well as 10 nieces and nephews, and 19 grand nieces and nephews.
Bob graduated from Preston High School in 1962 and worked 4 years with BF Goodrich, and 32 years with Heidt Metal in Kitchener as the Plant Manager in school furniture division. Following his retirement, he volunteered as church treasurer at the Milverton Mennonite Church. He was a faithful and devoted husband to his wife Phyllis as she lived with challenging disabilities. He was an avid gardener, and enjoyed bike riding, was an excellent handyman, and a man of faith.
The family would like to thank Dr. Scher and the Palliative Care Team for their excellent care.
Friends are invited to Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie on Tuesday September 23rd, at 10:30 AM followed by the service at 11:30 AM, with Pastor Jeff Stearns officiating. A reception will follow. A private interment will take place at the Bertie Brethren in Christ Cemetery, 4940 Church Road, Stevensville. Robert's Funeral will Livestreamed on the Benner Funeral Service's Facebook page at the time of service.
