Doris Miller passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side and with warm care from the staff at Deer Park Villa, Grimsby, on August 22nd, 2025, in her 98th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Bruce (1997). Cherished mother of Eric (Nancy) Miller and Shelley (Don) Deegan. Loved and adored grandmother of Matthew (Erica) Deegan, Emily (Benjamin Christensen) Deegan, Jeffrey (Emily Sands) Deegan, Nathan (Monika) Miller and Scott Miller. Great Grandmother, and affectionally known as GG, to Madeleine and Joey Deegan, Layla and Lenin Christensen, and Alice Miller. A private burial with immediate family has taken place on August 23rd, 2025 at St. John’s Anglican Church, Ridgemount Road. Benner Funeral Servies was entrusted with arrangements. Doris worked as a book keeper throughout her life at various businesses in Ridgeway and Fort Erie. Doris was a devout member of St. John’s. She was involved in all activities at St. John’s, in particular the St. John’s Players Theatrical Group. She was awarded the Order of Niagara by the Anglican Diocese of Niagara. Family and friends will have many fond memories of the various events hosted by Bruce and Doris at their family home on Ridge Road in Ridgeway. In her later years she was an active member of the Beach Combers, Ridgeway. Doris was a talented artist, selling many of her paintings and also wrote poetry as a young woman.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, 2251 Ridgemount Road, Stevensville on Sunday September 28th at 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life reception will be held immediately following the service in the adjoining Parish Hall. To honour Doris’s wishes, remembrance donations can be made to St. John’s Anglican Church, 2251 Ridgemount Road, Box 24, Stevensville, ON L0S1S0, and would be appreciated by her family.
