Obituary of Frederick Raymond Barber

Barber: Frederick Jr. (IV) “Freddy”

We are heartbroken at the loss of our Husband, Father and Papa who died on July 26, 2025. Loving husband of 46 years to Lynn (nee Davidson). Proud father of Amanda (John), Brian (Cait), Courtney (Titto). Loving Papa to Sebastian and Easton. He will be missed by sister-in-law Dawn (Bill) and brother in law Mark (Rosslyn). Predeceased by sister-in-law Shari.

Born and raised in Fort Erie, Fred’s love and support of his family were always a priority. Was a kidney transplant recipient for an unbelievable 33 years. He could be found at the ball diamond, the firehall, the arena, the theatre, and wherever else his children or grandchildren needed a cheerleader. In his spare time, he coached softball and ringette. He was an employee for over 40 years with Sherwin Williams and 18 years as a volunteer firefighter with Fire Hall #1. After retirement, he found enjoyment in driving limousines where his outgoing personality could be put to good use. Ever the optimist, Fred was a diehard Toronto Maple Leafs fan.

Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 9th from 10 am to 12 noon, followed by a short service at Greenwood Cemetery. A reception will take place after the graveside service at The Plaice until 3pm and all are welcome. If so desired, donations to Gilmore Lodge Nursing Home or Mark Preece Family House would be appreciated by the family.
