Obituary of Evelyn Deen

We are saddened by the passing of the wonderful matriarch of our family Evelyn Deen.  Ma passed in Fort Erie, Canada on July 17th 2025 (after a brief illness) surrounded by the love of her family.  Predeceased by her husband Kenneth.  She is survived by her adoring children Kevin (Roma), Karen (Rajesh), Kathy (Roderick), Kitty (Persad) and Karl (Stan).  She was the cherished grandmother of Khaleel and Kyle, a loving sister to Rebecca (Horace) and missed by her nieces, nephews and extended family and many friends in Trinidad, Canada & Scotland.  Predeceased by 2 sisters (Oricia & Franseca) and a brother (Albert).

 

Evelyn found happiness when surrounded by family where she loved to prepare meals with her special unique flavours which happily fed stomachs and her kindness and generosity fed souls.  She enjoyed gardening, trips to the grocery and other shops, going on day trips seeking adventure, visiting friends and family and spoiling her children & grandchildren.  Ma left an impression on everyone she met, she was welcoming, kind, witty, and overcame difficult situations with quick thinking & direct action. We are much better people because of her unconditional and never ending love, her strength of character, influence and her spirit will remain with us forever.

 

Evelyn will be buried in Trinidad.  Local arrangements entrusted to Benner Funeral Services, Fort Erie, Canada
