Obituary of Tanya Leigh Gavin

It is with broken hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Tanya Leigh Gavin on Tuesday July 8th, 2025, at the age of 36.

A cherished daughter, sister, friend, partner and mother, Tanya’s passing is an immeasurable loss for everyone lucky enough to know and love her. Beneath her sometimes quiet exterior was a fiery and fiercely loyal spirit who found joy in the small things - gaming, getting lost in a good book, Friends reruns and movie nights. Big-hearted, Tanya had a soft spot for animals and cared deeply for her beloved pets. 

Tanya’s strength and tenacity were most evident in the way she loved, cared for and protected her four children: Izaak (17), Myles (14), Chloe (3) and Miller (2 weeks.) She took immense pride in being a mother and in the strong, smart, and kind humans she was raising - as well as the child she lovingly placed for adoption. 

Tanya also leaves behind her partner, Cameron Whitford; her mother, Angela Folkmann (Keith Folkmann); her father, Leo Gavin (Janice Gavin); her sister, Nicole Gavin (Michael Lukkarinen); her brothers, Andrew Folkmann, Tyler Gavin, and Joshua Gavin; grandparents Helen and Terry Conners; and a wide circle of family and friends who will miss her dearly. 

Tanya dreamed of seeing the world, so we ask that you carry her spirit with you wherever you go (especially if you make it to Peru!).

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will be held at the Fort Erie Legion on Saturday August 9th from 2PM to 5PM. Williams Funeral Services has been enstrusted with arrangements.
