Obituary of Kenneth Micheal Fretz
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Kenneth Micheal Fretz announces his passing at the age of 61. Kenny was born on September 20th, 1963 and as Kenny would say went to be with “the big guy in the sky” on July, 9th, 2025
Kenny was a proud veteran serving in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Artillery Gunner – B Battery I RCHA. He served for 8 years mainly in Lahr, Germany.
Kenny is survived by his father Ken Fretz, his two sisters Kerry Hylkema (John), Kelly Fretz (Terry) and his honorary sisters Alison Spada and Michele Insinna. He is predeceased by his mother Lynda and his nephew Zachary. Kenny was loved by many friends and family especially his niece Grace and nephew Joshua.
Kenny was a good son and an awesome brother and uncle. Kenny loved his hometown of Crystal Beach. There was no other place in the world he would want to live then the “beach” with his friends and family. He will be remembered for his easy going, honest, straight forward, simple way of life. He will also be remembered for his deep rumbling laughter and his willingness to always have a party. We believe Kenny will be raising a little hell up in heaven. Kenny was loved by all who knew him.
A special thank you to Dr Scher, Elizabeth Trider, Marla Rager and all the wonderful palliative care staff at Douglas Memorial Hospital. The Family would also like to thank the Benner Funeral Home for their exceptional compassion and care.
The family will be coordinating a private service in celebration of his life.
