Andy was always a fighter in the short time that I knew him and was proud of that fact. He seemed to have a reasonable quality of life up until the very end despite all of the trials associated with his cancer. Coming back from his 12 week stay in the hospital was a testament to his desire to continue to live his life independently and extend his stay here on earth to spend as much time as possible enjoying his time with family.
