Obituary of Kathaleen Joy Rehm
Kathaleen Joy (Haidon) Rehm
May 14, 1944 – June 4, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Kathaleen (Kathy) Rehm announce her passing following a lengthy illness.
She was the proud and loving mother of John (Tami) Rehm and Mary Jo (John) Stolk. Grandma Kaki to Navaline (Adam) Penney, Terri (Kevin) Becker and fur babies Eddy and Jorge (2023). Great Grandma Kaki to Clayton, Liam and Pyper. Much loved Aunt and Great-Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed spending time with her dear friends and neighbours and was grateful for their friendship and company.
Kathaleen was born on Mother’s Day, May 14th, 1944 (spoiling the Doctor’s luncheon as she’d like to tell it) to the late Leonard Haidon Sr. (1979) and Joy Haidon (2009). She was the oldest sibling of JoAnne Stirling (2021), Bridget Haidon (1978), William Haidon (1978) and Leonard Haidon (2017). Kathy married Thomas Rehm on July 14th,1962 and they were together until his passing in 1979.
She lived a life of many losses and challenges but always picked up her spirits and put on a brave face. She was a cheerful giver and giving gifts gave her great joy. Kathy was a kind, friendly, loving woman who brought happiness to many. She will fondly be remembered and missed by all those whose hearts she touched.
The family extend their deep appreciation to Dr. Kim Scher and the wonderful staff of Douglas Memorial Hospital for the care provided. If you wish to memorialize Kathaleen with a charitable donation, please consider the Niagara Health Foundation (Walker Cancer Centre), the Canadian Diabetes or a Charity of your choice.
Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Wednesday June 11th from 11 am until the time of services in the chapel at 1 pm. A private interment will take place at a later time.
