Roy: Robert Joseph "Bob"
1942 - 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Joseph "Bob" Roy at the Fort Erie Hospital Palliative Care on May 16th, 2025. He was a loving and devoted husband to Bev Roy for 63 years. Son of the late Victor and Laura (Boudreau) Roy. Bob was predeceased by his daughter Debbie Sloan in July of 2024 and granddaughter Cheryl Sloan in 1998. He was predeceased by sisters Gilbertha "Gill" Michaud, Cecile and Lorraine Roy and brothers Fernand "Lefty", Hector, Norman and Claude. He is survived by his brother Ron of Nackawic, New Brunswick and sisters Marianne McCooey of Fort Erie, Claudette (Greg) Minnick of Cambridge, Theresa Roy and Nora (Larry) Mathewson of Ridgeway. He will be sadly missed by son-in-law Joe Sloan, grandsons Joey (Brittany) and Brandon Sloan and great grandsons Eoin and Finn Sloan as well as his sister-in-law Sim. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Bob was involved in the Militia, Cadets and was also an Alter boy at St. Thomas Church in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick. We are very grateful for the wonderful care shown by Dr. Scher and the staff in the Palliative Care Unit.
Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Avenue in Fort Erie has been entrusted with arrangements. A Mass to celebrate Bob's life will take place on Monday May 26th at 11 am at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church. If desired, donations may be made to the Fort Erie SPCA, and would be appreciated by his family.
