Obituary of Brian Mark Bougie
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our brother Brian Mark Bougie on Tuesday May 6th, 2025, at the age of 61.
Brian was predeceased by his father Bernard (Ben) in 1987, his sister (Veterinarian) Dr. Barbara Guillet (Daniel) in 1995, and his mother Joan in 2010. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Bernie and Cindy Bougie, his two nieces Jennifer Ford (Douglas) and Alicia Stepien (Michael), and two nephews Jonathan Bougie (Danna) and Richard Guillet. He was also great uncle to Arisa Ford, Luke Ford, Grace Stepien, Isaiah Stepien, Jacob Bougie and Vivian Bougie. Brian had lived the past 20 years at the Residence on Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls where he had made many friends and had been lovingly assisted by numerous staff members. He was a lifelong fan of the Montreal Canadiens and the New York Yankees, with a sharp mind for sports trivia as well as music trivia from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. He bowled in Fort Erie for many years on the Dandi-Lions Team.
In Brian’s teenage years he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ. He enjoyed church services, gospel music and fellowshipping with other believers. It gives us great comfort in knowing he is now in paradise and reunited with those who have passed away before him, no longer limited by his earthly disabilities.
“Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved someone like me. I once was lost but now am found, was blind but NOW I SEE!”.
Friends are invited to visitation at Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Avenues in Fort Erie, on Friday May 9th at 11 am to 12 pm. A Funeral Service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 12 pm. A Rite of Committal will follow at Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery at 3900 Farr Road in Ridgeway.
If so desired, as a memorial to Brian, donations can be made to a Fort Erie based world-wide children’s charity, “For The Least of Them Ministries”, through their website at fortheleastofthem.com. Brian loved kids, especially his nieces and nephews – he was a big kid himself!
