LOWN, Gilbert Ross
Born on February 20th, 1942 in Fort Erie, Ontario to the Late Ethelyn and Arthur Lown. Passed away on Wednesday April 30, 2025 at Gilmore Lodge in Fort Erie at the age of 83. Loving and devoted husband to Carolyn for 63 years. Devoted father to Clint, Missy (Lars), Laura (Tom). Doting papa to Sage, Solomon (Katie), Sophia, Simon and Isabella. Predeceased by his sister Cynthia. Survived by his siblings Glen (Janet), William and Cheryl and their families. Remembered by sister in law, Lorraine (Rick) and family. Our dad had a love for travel, he enjoyed the races and loved placing “5” across the board on #5. He was a lover of music especially Waylon, Willie and Jimmy Buffet - you could always find him and his beloved wife dancing the night away. Our dad had a love for entertaining, he was never happier than when he had his family and friends on his back deck, BBQing a Sahlen with a cocktail in hand. His love for his grandchildren was beyond immense and unconditional. He never missed a hockey game, graduation or recital. Always showed up for everything the grandkids were up to with immense joy and pride. Gil loved the outdoors, he enjoyed golfing, the pool, and feeling the sun on his face. A burial has taken place at Greenwood Cemetery. A Celebration of Gil’s life will be held at a later date.
