Donna Pollard

Obituary of Donna Pollard

It is with great sadness that Donna's family announces her passing on April 7th at the age of 89.

Beloved wife of Tom for 68 years.

Donna is survived by her children, Bob (Lynn) of Angus, Connie Engles (Gary) of Fort Erie and Jennifer Lorking (Brian) of Ridgeway.

She was the cherished "Nana" to Ashleigh Molnar (Adam); Erin Timbello (Justin), and Lauren Potts (Corey).

"Lala" will be greatly missed by the 7 great grandchildren she adored and who she showered with love; Max, Brooks, Kennedy, Mia, Raiden, Townes, and Emmett.

Donnas was the eldest born to the late Donald and Helen Chase in Trenton, and moved to Fort Erie as a young girl. She is survived by her sisters Connie Habermann of Stuart, Florida and Lois

Hyrtel of Niagara Falls. Along with many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers Jim and his wife Val, Walter, and his wife Cheryl, and by her brother-in-law Gerry Hyrtle.

Donna was a loved daughter-in-law to the late John and Helen Pollard and she was predeceased by her brothers in law Jack and his wife May, Jim and his wife Elizabeth as well as

sister-in-law Jane Rose and her husband Ernest.

Donna considered her best 'job' to be that of wife, mother, Nana and "Lala". However she has fond memories of working at Leo's Restaurant and Pratt & Lambert before starting her family. Once

her children began school, Donna became the first voice and smile once encountered at the Fort Erie Times Review as their receptionist until her retirement.

Donna was an avid doll collector and she was a regular at many local garage sales looking for the next treasure to add to that collection. She was a wonderful cook, a talented seamstress, and enjoyed

creating crafting of all kinds. Those were just some of the skills she was pleased to pass down to young girls who had her serve as their "Brown Owl' (7th Fort Erie Brown Pack) and District Commissioner for the

Fort Erie area.

In retirement, when Donna and Tom were not working on their family history passion, they could be found at various ball diamonds and regional fairs showing their love and support for their granddaughters' baseball and 4-H passions

Tom and the family would like to thank and acknowledge the wonderful staff at Northland Pointe for the exceptional care they provided Donna during her stay there.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a servie to honour her memory will be held at a later date.
