Obituary of Rev. E. Gordon Rendle
Rev. Ernest Gordon Rendle, son of Ernest and Mabel Rendle, was born in Cambridge, ON (Galt) on March 20, 1923, and passed away into the presence of his Lord on Wednesday,
April 2, 2025.
During the war of 1939-1945 he enlisted in the RCAF in 1942. When stationed in Moncton, NB, he met “the love of his life”, Helen Mills, and they were married on July 23, 1946. They enjoyed 70 years of marriage. Helen predeceased him in 2016.
He is the devoted father of Muriel Gunn (John) and Nancy Haines (Mark). He also leaves behind two grandsons David Haines (Laury) and Darrell Haines (Alayna) and seven great- grandchildren: Corélie (André), Israël, Elijah, William, Isaac, Nora and Violet.
He is also survived by his brother Rev. James Rendle of Oshawa and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gordon graduated from London Bible Institute in 1948 and was a caring Baptist pastor for over 70 years with the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada in Ontario, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.
Gordon was predeceased by his parents, brother George, and sisters, Jean Cameron, Isabelle Drinkwalter, and Marion Gammage, sisters-in-law Joan Rendle and Anna Rendle, and brothers-in-law Ivan Drinkwalter, Al Gammage, and Rev. Bill Cameron.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at First Baptist Church, 165 Bertie Street, Fort Erie, ON, on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with an hour of visitation with the family prior to the service. The service may be viewed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VckCk1LxcLo&t=1s. A reception will follow. A private immediate family committal service has taken place. Benner Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
