Obituary of John Robert Kidd
John Robert (Poppa, Grandpa John) Kidd, 90, of Hamilton, Ontario, passed away peacefully on March 30th, 2025 in Welland Ontario with his family by his side.
John was born in Yorkshire England to John and Hannah Kidd on March 23rd, 1935. He immigrated to Montreal, Canada where he became a life long Habs fan before moving to Dundas where he got married and raised his family. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cricket, golf and card games with his family and friends.
John is preceded in death by his wife Deborah Anne Kidd (nee Snelling). He is survived by his partner Sylvia Baron of Welland, sister Betty Almandares (Derek), daughter Robyn (Kevin) Bainbridge (nee Kidd), son Andrew (Meghan) Kidd, grand daughter Olivia, grandson Michael, grandson Mason, stepdaughter Jodi Fraleigh, stepson Duncan (Michele) Prestage, step grandson Liam, stepdaughter Sarah, and step grandson Adam.
Benner Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements for John. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Life will be held at Bridgewater Golf and Country Club in Fort Erie on April 27th, 2025, between 2:00pm – 4:00pm.
