Dear Joyce,Kathleen,Damian,Christopher & Families
When the Good Lord looked for the definition of: an exceptional person, companion, father, grandfather, relative, provider & friend, Charlie's name was at the top of the list! In every sense Charlie embodied devotion to his Family, Faith & Friends in his modest, steadfast manner. Best joketeller ever! Safe journey dear friend...

I am so sorry for your loss Joyce. The two of you were such a beautiful couple. I have so many memories of you and Charlie coming to my nanny's place in Dartmouth, NS and hearing stories of Goo and Chubb. I never got to meet my grandfather but I certainly got to know him through your generous stories. Charlie always made me feel welcome any time I was at a family event I barely knew a soul...but he would always come and talk with me and make me feel a part of it. I will miss his spirit. My heart goes to yours right now.

My deepest sympathies and condolences to Joyce and the Schofield family on the passing of your beloved Charlie. I was blessed to get to know him when he joined Knights council here in Fort Erie, quickly becoming our Treasurer. We bonded over our mutual machine tool and manufacturing backgrounds and equal values for integrity and efficiency in all business and volunteer operations. Charlie held his family dear and fellow Knights were drawn to his warmth, sincere faith, thoughtfulness, and his friendly sense of humour (which was never at anyone's expense, a rare trait). The fabric of our community has been bettered through Charlie's presence and activities. His kind but firm spirit endures still through those he's known and inspired. Randy Paura

We were very saddened to learn of Charlies passing. We met Charlie during participation in the St Micheal's Church Alpha program. We were impressed by his warmth, friendliness, deep faith, family orientation, thoughtfulness and good sense of humour. We become friends with Charlie and Joyce sharing a few meals and good conversation. We shared his interest in gardening and particularly enjoyed reviewing his nature photography, particularly his amazing bird photos. We enjoyed a few walks and bird watching with him in Erie Beach Woods. He and Joyce kindly welcomed us back on a recent return visit to Fort Erie, giving us a very much appreciated and interesting tour and prospective of our growing home town.
Our sincerest condolences to Joyce and family. Our prayers are with you! Please take solace in the special memories Charlie leaves!

My condolences to Joyce and the family. I met Charlie over 47 years ago in Guelph and he quickly became my gold standard of a good Dad. A loving, humorous, steady, supportive, and principled role model. Glad to have known him and been welcomed so many times into such a warm home.

Dear Joyce, Christopher, Kathleen, Damian & family
We were so saddened to hear of Charlie’s passing. He was such a lovely, quiet man and will be greatly missed. Our memories of him go back a long way. I remember on one occasion someone saying that they were not sure of who was whom in the Schofield family but they picked me out as Charlie’s sister. We had a good laugh over that for awhile.
We are sending our deepest condolences, prayers and warm hugs to you all.
RIP Charlie
Love

To Joyce and Family.
I am so sorry for the loss of your dear husband, father and grandfather. He was a lovely sweet man and I’m sure you will miss him terribly.
Your family has the gift of deep faith which will help in the belief that Charlie’s spirit will always be with you, especially during tough times. And maybe his spirit has met up with that of Brenda and Earl and who knows?Maybe a game of cards if that is allowed in heaven.
Charlie once gave me a series fo photos showing the stages in the life cycle of the monarch butterfly. I cannot pass a milkweed plant without searching for monarch eggs on the undersurface of the leaves.
With love and warm hugs from the Redmond family.
