


Obituary of Ken Racey
Kenneth Edwin Racey
The family of Ken are saddened to announce that Ken passed away on Tuesday, February 25th at Douglas Memorial Hospital, palliative unit. He went home to heaven peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Ken was the loving husband of Sharon (McManus) and loving father of Jennifer(Enzo) Rondinelli, Jaime Racey, and Jody (Lynn Barry) Zimmerman.
Proud PaPa of Olivia , Aiden and Riley. Sadly missed by his dear sister Joanne (Glenn) Bilton, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Ken is predeceased by his parents Ken and Nancy Racey, Mother in law Jean McManus, Sister Sandra and brother in law Brian. He leaves behind his beloved dog Winston and joined in heaven by all of his previous dogs and pets.
Ken was an accomplished welder/plumber/pipe fitter where he worked for E.S. Fox for many years. He also taught these trades at Niagara College, George Brown and worked very hard to open and establish the trades program at Nunavut Arctic College.
Ken grew up in Niagara Falls and later resided in Chippawa with his wife and 3 girls before moving to Ridgeway.
Ken was an avid sportsman playing baseball, hockey, tennis, golf and spent many hours on his boats fishing with his friends, son in laws and grandchildren.
He was such supportive PaPa, his grandchildren's biggest fan attending hockey games, gym meets and dance events.
Family extend heartfelt thanks and gratitude to GNGH ER staff, Dr Maida Walker Cancer Center, DMH Palliative Unit Staff, Home Care Nurses Rebecca and Laurie for the excellent care given to both our parents. To Dr Scher for his dedication and compassionate care . We are forever grateful.
Benner Funeral Services 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Sunday March 9th from 1-3 and from 4 until the time of services at 6 pm in the Chapel. The family requests, that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to local SPCA and Walker Cancer Centre.
