Obituary of Maria Giampaolo
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria Giampaolo on Wednesday, January 29, at the age of 61, surrounded by her loving family. Maria was small but mighty. She was born with some challenges very early, but that did not stop her. She learned to adapt and become very independent. Once she set her mind on something, there was no changing it. Everyone who knew her could see how big her heart was. She was so generous and thoughtful. Maria’s thoughts were always with others, her heart forever aware of their needs, even in her final moments. She demonstrated the true meaning of bravery and strength, not through grand gestures but in quiet moments of resilience and grace.
Maria leaves behind her sister Nina and brother-in-law Frank, who will miss her terribly. She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, whom she loved deeply and treated like her own: Brayden, Alessa (Matt), Daniel, Loren, Matthew and Lukas. She also leaves behind little Dray, who brought joy to her life. She was predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Lavinia (2006 & 2022) and her brother Michael (2018).
Maria will be deeply missed by her uncles, aunts, and cousins from the Giampaolo and Di Giorgio families and by her cherished friends from Fatima, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
We are thankful for the caring nurses (especially Mark) who attended to her at the Welland Hospital. Donations in Maria’s memory can be made to the Circle Back Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie, entrusted with arrangements.
