My deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Kamotovic. So many memories of a wonderful educator who touched many lives. I still see him standing in front of his classroom door during classroom period changes. Always quick witted, willing to help, tough when needed, and willing to have lunch with his students, and sharing a laugh with Mr. Russell. 40+ years since graduation and still remember Mr. Kamotovic as one of the “great ones”! We are sad to hear about the passing of Mike today. I have many fond memories growing up with him being around our home laughing and joking and of course on the soccer field. Our dad, Sam Passero says " the best time of my life was when I was was playing soccer with one of my best friends, Mike" Our prayers and thoughts are with his family today and know he is smiling upon all of you...his family was his greatest success. It was my honour and pleasure to know and work with Mike in our community of KofC Council 3320. It was a great shock to hear about Mike passing to the other world. He always checked on me particularly during the pandemic and after my wife's passing. We lost a great gentleman. Rest in peace my brother.

Mr. Kamatovic was one of our regular supply teachers at RCBHS. Everyone LOVED walking into the classroom to find Mr. Kamatovic was our substitute. He would always buy trays of cookies from the cafeteria to give to the students. He was the best. Always happy and full of life!

It was my privilege to get to know Mike and work with him on various projects within our community together with the Knights of Columbus, Council #3320. Throughout this pandemic, he would take the time to call me, just to check in, see how the family was and plan for the next effort to make a difference for the better in Fort Erie.
When I first started working with him, his no nonsense and direct style set me back a bit, but I learned to appreciate he was always sincere in his value of others and wasn't concerned with 'fluff'. In particular, at one meeting regarding our education awards I was witness to the unique dynamic that is Mike Kamatovic, he was always a fierce advocate for the younger generation. I did not encounter Mike as an educator during my younger years in Greater Fort Erie but having worked with him I know that he made a difference for the better in our community and never sought acclamation for himself.
An exemplary gentleman, Christian, dear friend, beloved Brother Knight, and esteemed Grand Knight. God bless you Mike and family. Thank you for sharing Mike with us, his faith and family were foremost to him. May his smile, warmth, virtuous deeds, and spirit endure forever through us all.

I am so sorry for your enormous loss. He loved you all so very much and would tell me stories of how everyone was doing and how lucky he was to have the love of his family and how proud he was of each of you. I truly thought he would outlive us all. He cared about everything and everyone he met. I would look forward to his drop ins at my office and my whole staff would smile all day because he was so much fun to hang out with. We will all cherish those memories but I will cherish them the most because of our one on one conversations, our mutual love and respect for each other and his love of life. I will miss him but will carry him in my heart forever. It such a loss to our community. He will be missed.

So sad to hear the passing of Mike Kamatovic, I had him as a teacher at Fort Erie High School as well as a soccer coach. He also taught my kids at Ridgway Crystal Beach High School. Whenever Mike would see me, he would shout out to me "Holmes, you goof!, then snicker and smile and follow up with a question. He will be missed by many, and my condolences to the Kamatovic Family and friends that knew him.

Our Condolences to the Kamatovic family... Mike was an amazing person and a wonderful neighbour. As others have mentioned, he was also my teacher in Grade 12 Geography... and my final year soccer coach.... still remember many memories at FESS....
But mostly I remember Mike as a neighbour and extremely good friend to our father and family, living just across the street on Rosehill... he made the last few years of our fathers life so much better something I will never forget, always there for him, always grabbing him for a coffee or just to come over and chat! In the last 4 years as I moved back to Fort Erie, and my wife and I moved into our dads old house across the street from Mike, it was so nice to have his amazing smiling face every time I saw him.
The world will miss you Mike... I know I will.
