Obituary of Margaruite Almon

Almon : Margaruite Margaruite passed away while surrounded by love at her home, in the Residence on Garrison on January 5th, 2021 at the age of 86. She is now reunited with her loving husband Arthur William “Art” for their 66th wedding anniversary on the 8th. Loving mother of Joseph Almon, Leanne (Keith) Brown and John (Agnes) Almon. Cherished and devoted "Nannie" of Jennifer (Michael Pasto) Brown, Matthew (Emily DeDonatis) Brown, Alexandria, McKinley and Logan Almon. She will be dearly missed by her extended family and friends. Margaruite was a proud veteran of the RCAF where she met her husband Art. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and involved for many years with St. Michael's Catholic Women's League. She was known for her spunk and storytelling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved cat Felix. Margaruite's grandchildren were extremely important to her and she always ensured that they knew that by enthusiastically cheering them on throughout all of their life events. She loved crafts, especially working on ceramics and creating little gifts for all of her friends at the Residence on Garrison. The family wish to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful staff of Residence on Garrison, for the compassionate and dignified care that was given to our Mom (Nannie). Special thank you to Sarah McPhee and all of the nursing staff who went above and beyond to ensure she was surrounded by love and kindness throughout her stay. Sincerest thank you to Dr. K. Scher for his outstanding care and compassion. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. Respecting Covid 19 restrictions the family will have a small service followed by interment to follow in St. Michael’s Catholic Church Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the St. Michael's Catholic Women's League or Fort Erie Meals on Wheels would be appreciated by the family. “If there ever comes a day where we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I'll stay there forever"
