Wilkinson: Rick

August 27, 1941- October 1, 2021

Peacefully passed away on October 1st, 2021 at the Millennium Trail Manor in Niagara Falls with his loving wife of 39 years at his side.

He is survived by his soul mate and best friend Linda (nee Phillips) Wilkinson. He was a caring and loving brother to Sue (Wilkinson) Keating. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother-in-law Bob (Janis) Phillips, his nieces Joleen Maxwell, Katie (Tracy Reynolds) Keating, his nephews Sean (Tricia) Keating and Bobby Phillips, "Auntie" Sheila Colan and his extended family. He will be missed by his many wonderful friends both here and the U.S.

Predeceased by his parents, Phyllis (2019) and Harry (1995) Wilkinson, sister Jane Matthews (2019) and stepson Brett Potter (2020).

Rick was born in Brantford, Ontario and moved to Fort Erie at an early age spending the rest of his life there. Rick took over Wilkinson Plumbing and Heating (est. 1913) following in his Grandfather and Father's footsteps, retiring in 2012 after serving the residents of Fort Erie for over 50 years. He was always ready to help both his clients and friends at any time of the day or night with their plumbing problems. He was the Master Plumber for The Fort Erie Friendship Festival since inception until it dissolved.

He was a dedicated member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, and Palmer Lodge No. 372. He was also a member of the Niagara British Car Club. He loved his LBC, a 1976 TR6, and was so happy attending many club car events and particularly the many friends that he and Linda made over the last 20 years.

Rick enjoyed travelling with Linda to many destinations and especially enjoyed living in their winter home at VHL, in Port Charlotte, FL where he sat on a number of boards. He also enjoyed a good hamburger and spaghetti or lasagna.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sylvia Kaptein and Cindy for their continuing care and concern over the years. Thank you to Dr. D. Dargavel, Dr. P. McGarry, N.P. Cam and Carey R.N.ensuring that Rick was comfortable during his last days at Millennium.

Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Millennium Trail Manor Clifton Home area where Rick resided for the last 5 weeks. We could not have asked for better care and Rick loved you all. Also to all the neighbours and our friends who supported Rick and I over the last 2 years .

As per Rick's wishes cremation has taken place and private services have been held.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Benner Funeral Services, Fort Erie. Thank you to Darren Flagg and Alexis Fiander for their guidance and compassion.

If desired donations to St. Paul's Anglican Church, C.O.P.E., The Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Rest in peace my beloved. I love you to the moon and back .... and beyond!!
